Zimbabwe in bid to woo entrepreneurs

Our Bureau
AHMEDABAD, January 30: High Commissioner of Zimbabwe N NDando has beckoned to Indian entrepreneurs, particularly Gujarat, for greater trade and investment with his country, offering incentives like five years tax holiday and duty-free imports for inputs.

Addressing a meeting of exporters and importers held here under the aegis of Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry, he said the bilateral trade between the two countries was at present $ 20 million as compared to Zimbabwe's exports alone being $ 22 billion. Its major exports are agro-based products like leather, fabric, cotton lint, tobacco, besides gold, ferro alloys, non-electronic machinery. He said that his country's annual GDP growth had been 7 per cent for the last few years and was expected to rise to 9 per cent in the coming years.
