  Indo Rama chief to cut stake in PTA project
Indo Rama is not opposed to the idea of bringing down its equity holding in the new PTA project to the extent that it can retain majority stake. Accordingly, Indo Rama's stake could come down to 54% in the company if one of the three partners - Mitsui of Japan - picks up a 20% stake in the joint venture.
  Hindustan Petroleum's Vizag refinery to begin operations soon
Hindustan Petroleum Corporation plans to begin operations at its Vizag refinery by Tuesday. The 4.5 million facility was partially ravaged by a fire in mid-September which led to its closure for nearly five months. The recommissioning will begin in a small way before it goes on full steam by June.

Videocon signs PPA with Tamil Nadu Electricity Board
After months of negotiations, the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB) recently signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with the Videocon group which is putting up the North Madras thermal power plant stage-II at Ennore near Madras with a capacity of 1,050 MW. The tariff is fixed at Rs 2.80 per unit for the first 15 years and is further extendible to another 15 years by mutual consent.
HM applies brakes on Ambassador deliveries
Hindustan Motors Ltd is despatching a limited number of Ambassador cars from its Uttarpara factory to other parts of the country as they are being picked up from the road by government officials for election purposes.

Pepsi to relaunch 7-Up, may trigger battle with Coke
Pepsi is re-launching its clear-lime brand 7-Up next month. The revival of this brand, which has been off the shelves, is likely to trigger a major battle with its arch rival Coca-Cola. Coca-Cola has also decided to resurrect its cloudy-lemon brand Limca in a big way.

HP aims to grab Unix share from Digital
Hewlett-Packard Co (HP) reported that it saw an opportunity to grab a bigger share of the Unix operating system market while Compaq Computer Corp and Digital Equipment Corp are integrating.
