Opposition from the public and its own members forced the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU) to cancel a strike on Friday.

Malaysia seeks to keep multimedia zone funded
Malaysia is intent on keeping funds available for its fledgling multimedia zone, prime minister Mahathir Mohamad said on Friday. Acknowledging that Asia's economic downturn had made investment funds more scarce, he said Malaysia would "prioritise our expenditure" to favour industries of the future, including the Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC).
