Canon copier plant at Noida by April: Canon copier plant at Noida by April Canon India Pvt Ltd would set up a pilot project to manufacture photocopiers at Noida by april, company managing director Tony Fitzgerald said. The manufacturing unit would have an initial capacity of 250 units per annum. Cannon India plans to double the capacity every year, he said. "Initially, we thought of going for a bigger plant with a capacity of 10,000 units by the end of 1998, but the new model is struck at the design stage. As we need time to adapt the latest technology, we are going in for this pilot project," he said.

CARE downgrades Hindustan Financial FD programme: The Fixed-Deposit (FD) programme of Hindustan Financial Management has been downgraded by the Credit Analysis & Research Ltd (Care), to default category (Care D) from Care A-. Deteriorating asset quality and steady outflow of deposits have exerted pressure on the company's liquidity, a Care release said.

Microsoft network architecture:Microsoft has unveiled Microsoft Windows Distributed Internet Applications (DNA) architecture, a unified approach for building distributed, scalable, multi-tier applications that can be delivered over any network. A Microsoft release said it is the first application architecture to integrate the Internet, client/server and personal computer (PC) models of computing for a new class of distributed computing solutions. "Developers are looking for a platform that will enable them to focus on building value-added information network applications rather than on building infrastructure," Microsoft Corporation India Pvt Ltd tools evangelist Daniel Ingitiraj K said.

Bharat Earth Movers wheel dozer: Bharat Earth Movers Ltd has launched the BD30W-1/300 HP wheel dozer. Designed and developed on inhouse technology, the BD30W-1 incorporates high-power engine, rugged transmission and heavy-duty planetary axles for increased reliability and manoeuvrability. High travel speed and low cycle-time helps ensure highproductivity of the machine. The equipment will fulfil the long-standing need from customers in the coal sector, a company release said. It is expected to undergo trails at the Western Coalfields shortly.

MBL Research sets up office in Chennai: MBL Research and Consultancy Group (MBL-RCG) has set up a branch office in Chennai. This is the agency's fourth branch office in the country. It also has field offices in Calcutta and Lucknow and subsidiaries in Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. MBL-RCG has a range of highly-specialised products obtained from different parts of the world. "We are sure these products will add value to the marketing strategy and marketing plans of leading companies headquartered in Chennai", said company managing director John Abraham.

Kirloskar Electric CNC products: Kirloskar Electric will launch highly-developed CNC products at the ongoing IMTEX-98 in Delhi. The company will launch `Viking Turn Mill', a compact low-cost single PCB-based computerised numerical-control system.It will also unveil Cavalier -- a digital AC servo, Kaiser -- a digital AC spindle and Mill Mate -- a new CNC milling attachment. All the new products have been manufactured indigeneosly right from the component stage, a company release said.

Elf Lubricants 2T oil: Elf Lubricants India Ltd has introduced its internationally acclaimed 2T Oil. Launched under the brand name Elf Moto 2 Jaso FB, it meets the JASO FB specifications of JASO--the world's most stringent emission-standards organisation. Elf Moto 2 Jaso FB is recommended for all two-stroke petrol engine Kinetic Honda, Kawasaki Bajaj, RXZ Yamaha, TVS Suzuki, Bajaj and LML.

Qualcomm digital wireless concentrators: Qualcomm Inc has launched the telecom industry's first code division multiple access (CDMA) digital wireless concentrators. This new equipment OCT-8000 is designed for CDMA digital cellular systems at 800 MHz frequency while the new system supports CDMA digital personal communications services systems.

German tool firm toset up joint venture in South India: Trumpf Gmbh of Germany plans to set up a DM 5-million joint venture to manufacture precision sheet metal tools in South India. These tools are not being produced in the country at present.
