Datre aims for Rs 500-crore turnover by 2005

Falta, Mar 9: Datre Corporation, the newly set up integrated valve manufacturing unit of the Kanoria group, has chalked out plans to become the world's largest such unit by the year 2005, according to executive director Sujit Kanoria.

The Datre unit, which is located at the Falta Industrial Growth Centre, is the only valve-makers in the country equipped with a 9,000 tonne per annum foundry.

"We plan to achieve an annual turnover of Rs 500 crore by the year 2005," Kanoria said.Indocean Ventures Ltd, a US-based company partly owned by the Soros group, holds a 26 per cent stake in the company.

The rest is owned by the Kanorias.The project was financed by the Industrial Development Bank of India with a term loan of Rs 25 crore.

Only 30 per cent of Datre's present orders are for exports.
