Pune, Mar 12: Production of the Safari, Telco's special utility vehicle (SUV), is scheduled to be increased from 22 vehicles per day to between 32 to 35 a day from Friday, according to sources. Company officials said this is part of the ramp up in production schedule. Delivery of over 1500 Safaris, priced at around Rs 8 lakh, will be done by end of April.Officials said there has been initial surge in demand which has left the automobile manufacturer behind in delivery schedules. On the issue of customer complaints, they said the vehicle is new and there are bound to be some minor issues. They, however, said with a Rs 8 lakh price tag, the customer is entitled to a defect-free vehicle. Copyright © 1998 Indian Express Newspapers (Bombay) Ltd.
