Two persons held for assault on engineers

Our Political Bureau
MUMBAI, Mar 19: The Nhava Sheva police have arrested two persons for assaulting two engineers working with P&O Australia and Mahimtura Consultants at the container terminal site on Thursday morning.

Police said Jo Benister and M Pujari were attacked by the duo while demanding jobs for locals. The Rs 700 crore container terminal is being developed by the Nhava Sheva International Container Terminal, a consortium comprising P&O Australia.

Similarly, two engineers from Pathare developers, the contractors engaged in the development of terminal, were also threatened not to go ahead with the construction works.

Thane district guardian minister, Ganesh Naik, has taken serious note of the incident and has directed the police to take action against the culprits. He has also asked the police to beef up the security.
