Cadila to put up sterilisation facility at Kadi plant

Our Bureau
AHMEDABAD, Mar 30: The Ahmedabad-based Cadila Pharmaceuticals Ltd (CPL) has entered into a strategic alliance with the Mumbai-based Board of Radiation and Isotope Technology (BRIT) to install a Rs 5.50-crore sterilisation facility at its Casil Health Products Ltd (CHPL) plant at Kadi.

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between Cadila Pharmaceuticals chairman Indravadan Modi and BRIT chief executive S Gangadharan here on Monday to install the plant on a turn-key basis. The alliance assumes importance as sterilisation through safe and sophisticated radiation is fast replacing the conventional ethylene oxide method.

According to Modi, the new facility at the Kadi plant, likely to go on stream by December, is capable of sterilising 20,000 cubic meters of material per year.
