  Hoechst Marion Roussel union moves court over amalgamation scheme
The employees union of the German multinational Hoechst Marion Roussel (HMR) has filed a petition in the Mumbai high court, alleging "suppression of material facts" in the recently approved scheme of amalgamation of Roussel India Ltd with HMR.

AB Electrolux rules out merger of arms Maharaja and Intron
AB Electrolux, the Stockholm-based white goods manufacturer, has ruled out the merger of its two subsidiaries Maharaja International and Intron Ltd in the immediate future.
Iridium India signs pact with World 1 Network
Iridium India Telecom Ltd (IITL) has entered into an alliance with World 1 Network, a consortium of 10 cellular operators in the country, wherein the World 1 partners will offer the entire range of Iridium services in their areas. This agreement will also enable World 1 members to offer their subscribers the benefit worldwide roaming using a single phone with a single number and single billing system.

National Fertilisers net up at Rs 251 cr
The urea scam-tainted public sector National Fertilisers Limited (NFL) has staged a dramatic recovery with record production and financial performances during 1997-98. The company has achieved its highest-ever production of 3.19 million tonnes of urea, record capacity utilisation of 114% and an all-time high net profit of Rs 251 crore during the year.

IL&FS set to unveil niche health services
Infrastructure Leasing & Financial Services Ltd (IL&FS) will soon get into the management of hospitals and introduce niche health services. The infrastructure finance company is planning to float a joint venture company which will offer management services to hospitals, including taking up the day-to-day management of existing hospitals.
