Bangalore, April 18: Euro-Prisma BV of Holland, a software consultancy group, is all set to enter into a joint venture with the Bangalore-based Hardsoft Solutions Pvt Ltd to set up its subsidiary in the country.Euro Prisma Holding chairman and executive director N Kishore Pinpati said the company has sought necessary approvals from both the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and the Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) for the purpose. ``We are intending to invest 20 million dutch guilders in the next three years for our operations in the country,'' he added.
According to him, the Holland-based firm will pick up 75 per cent stake in the new entity, Euro-Prisma India Pvt Ltd, while Hardsoft Solutions will pick up the balance. The total paid-up capital of the company is still being worked out. Hardsoft Solutions is involved in developing software solutions and implementing turnkey projects in the country.
Since its inception in 1995, Euro-Prisma has reported a total revenue of 12 million dutch guilders andprojected a turnover of around 50 million dutch guilders this year. ``The main source of income would be from executing Year 2000 projects for the $4.5 billion Computer Associates International Inc (CA) of the US,'' Pinpati said here on Saturday. The main promoters of the Holland-based firm are N Kishore Pinpati, an NRI and Pieter Basson. Having subsidiaries in Germany and the Middle East, the company has devised a complete sales/marketing and implementation strategy for CA-Germany's consulting division. Euro-Prisma offers services for the complete lifecycle of the Year 2000 project starting from inventory to testing and acceptance of Year 2000 compliant systems.
Euro-Prisma BV, in association with Wipro Infotech and the Computer Associates India Pvt Ltd, has also set up the first ``Global CA Unicentre Competence Centre'' in the country for software professionals. The unit, located at Wipro's Bangalore facility, will train software professionals as certified TNG engineers qualified to implement UnicentreTNG enterprise management solutions for CA's customers worldwide.
Unicentre TNG is an integrated enterprise management solution that enables companies to manage all IT resources encompassing heterogeneous networks, systems, applications and databases. It provides end-to-end enterprise management for TCP/IP, SNA, IPX/SPX and DECnet networks and 40 platforms including desktops, Windows NT, Unix, AS/400, NetWare, and mainframe environments.
