Carryforward rate dips to average of 32%
The annualised carry forward rates at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) came down to an average of 32% from an average of 40-42% last week. The rates went up to a high of 43-45% in some scrips and touched a low of 18% towards the close to finally settle at 30-32%.
Skindia GDR index drops by 2.09%
The Skindia GDR index fell 20 points or 2.09% in the week ended April 16. The sensex slipped 1.18% during the same period. The Skindia GDR index, which had breached the 1,000 point mark before settling at 999.93 points on April 9, closed at 979.02 points on April 16.

Onion-growers agitation echoes in Maharashtra assembly
The rasta-roko agitation, launched by onion producers on Saturday on the major national highways in Maharashtra demanding remunerative price for onions, echoed in the state assembly amidst slogan shouting by opposition members. The rasta roko has resulted in hinderances to the vehicular traffic on the highways.
