MedEx W has powerful software features that help analyse sales, monitor dues, alter overdues, identify strong and weak customer bases, evaluate salesman performance and present credit patterns to maximise profit. The package manages purchases and sales to ensure optimum stock levels, minimize dead stocks, keep track of pilferage and administer purchase returns for proper credit and replacements.

Designed to handle year 2000 AD, it has integrated account facility which takes care of everything from general ledger entries right up to the balance sheet, eliminating errors and saving on time.

Other benefits include minimum data entry work and quicker updating of invoices. Wholesalers sales invoicing crosses 400 on an average. The user need not remember codes.

There are about 2,500stockists in Tamil Nadu and 90 per cent have some software package installed. However none of them incorporate all the features necessary for stockists in one shot. Wholesalers have complained about the fragmentary nature of these packages, which give rise to considerable dissatisfaction during work. The servicing factor also left much to be desired, they said.

While other packages are priced in the Rs 3000 to Rs 25,000 range, MedEx plans to sell its package at Rs 12,000. It is willing to arrange finance and give one year's free service. The company is planning to restrict operations to Tamil Nadu initially, till a broader service network is put in place to cater to Mumbai and other cities.

Super stockists also have a package called MedEx S from the same company for their exclusive use. MedEx also plans to develop similar packages for stockists in other industries.
