Says Uma Ganesh, CEO, Zee Education: ``The objective is to help the youth focus on three main areas, guidance and counselling, courses related to career options and placement''. Typically, the academy is looking for youth in 16-25 age group offering nearly 12 career options in the first year itself. The academy claims to provide various technology aids to supplement the theory formats like videos and CD Roms. The duration of the courses will range from 3 months to 2 years with fees ranging from Rs 3,000 to Rs 25,000. The main privileged of enrolling for these courses is probably the fact that a free aptitude test is conducted at the outset. Thereafter it is up to the candidate to enroll for the courses. Handbooks are doledout from ZED Careerscope giving information about the emerging career options, what the employees are looking for, salaries offered etc. Besides ZED Careerscope also offers training programmes in personality development and conversational English to assist students in developing a holistic personality to suit their career needs.

At present, Zed Career Academy is offering courses in Computer Education, Career Courses in computer aided designing, career preparation and vocational education and management education. The Academy awards diplomas and certificates for the courses.

Adds Ganesh: ``With more than 30 per cent of Indians estimated to be below the age of 25, there are crores of people looking for a career and a job. We find out what future employees at looking at and try to match their needs by providing candidates with the right skills and personality''.
