CSE invites bids for new complex

Our Market Bureau
CALCUTTA, April 29: The Calcutta Stock Exchange (CSE) is inviting experienced firms, including global consultants, for "conceptualising, designing and executing" a new building complex for it at the Eastern Metropolitan Bypass in Calcutta. The estimated cost of the project, according to top exchange sources, will be around Rs 100 crore and will include modern office blocks, convention and seminar halls, auditoriums and recreation centres with state-of-the-art communication facilities.

The capital outlay will be funded by CSE's internal resources and proceeds from the sale of office space in the complex. The stock exchange proposes to offer its members a minimum of 250 sq ft of office space. Members who need more than 250 sq ft space will have to pay for incremental space at commercial rates. CSE authorities have decided to release advertisements nationally to attract top notch architects and consultants. Besides this it will also advertise on the Internet to ensure wider participation in the biddingprocess. CSE had acquired 10 acres of land from the West Bengal government at a cost of Rs 8.8 crore. The exchange proposes to house banks, custodians, depository participants among others in the complex.
