BHEL bags TEC Jojobera order

Our Infrastructure Bureau
NEW DELHI, May 3: Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has once again proved its international competitiveness by winning an order against global competition, outbidding European and American multinational companies, for supply of generating equipment for Tata Electric Companies 240 mw thermal power plant at Jojobera, (Bihar).

Tata Electric Companies has entrusted BHEL with an order for supply, erection and commissioning of 2 numbers 120 mw each stream turbine generator sets with matching pulverised fuel fired boilers of 390 tonnes per hour capacity, for its Jojobera power plant near Jamshedpur.

This repeat order by TEC is a testimony to the customer's confidence in BHEL's capabilities in setting up thermal/captive power plants. Earlier, BHEL has executed contracts for 67.5 mw and 30 mw captive power plants of Tata at Jamshedpur. These units have achieved a very high level of performance since its commercial operation. The steam turbine generator sets will be manufactured at BHEL's RC Puram plant.
