J&N plans extra volumes to gain edge

Nandini Goswami
Calcutta, May 4: Jenson & Nicholson (J&N) will push extra volumes and hike machine density to gain an extra edge over its competitors in the automatic-tinting decorative paints segment.

This comes in the wake of almost all the paints majors introducing their own computerised colour-processing systems.

A senior company official said that J&N, with its separate brand in this category, was already providing lot of flexibility to the dealers.

"Instacolor itself is a separate brand altogether and we do not have to face competition within our own brands in the market," the official said.

Asian Paints has one of their most common brands `Apcolite' in the computerised colour-processing category. `Dulux', the ICI India brand, is part of Colour Solutions, the company's computerised system.

Most of the companies have their brands under the regular enamels & emulsions category as computerised colourants.
