  Pepsico slaps anti-trust suit against Coke
Pepsico Inc has sued Coca-Cola Co alleging that it is holding a monopoly over the fountain-dispensed soft drink market by forbidding independent food service distributors from carrying Pepsi products. The suit, filed in Manhattan federal court, alleges that Coca-Cola has used this practice to maintain its more than 90% share of the fountain-dispensed soft drink market.
  Pharmaceutical pricing authority steps up 19 formulations' retail price-tag
The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) has increased the retail prices of 19 formulations ranging between 6.64 per cent and 35.54 per cent. The retail prices have been reduced for two formulation packs on account of the decrease in the notified price of the bulk drug rifampicin.

ONGC deep-water probe veers off Krishna-Godavari to Cauvery basin
Oil and Natural Gas Corporation has revised its agenda for deepwater exploration and will now begin work in the Cauvery basin in Tamil Nadu instead of Krishna-Godavari as planned earlier. The change in location was necessary as there have been "unusually rough currents" in the Krishna-Godavari basin which have prevented any drilling from taking place.
Pfizer plans to launch a slew of drugs for domestic market
American multinational, Pfizer, is understood to be planning a slew of new drug launches and relaunches in India, even as it has "some concerns" on bringing in its potential blockbuster brand for impotence, Viagra. Pfizer is also examining the feasibility of introducing its cardiovascular drug, Cardura, and anti-diabetes drug, Glucotrol XL in India.

Fresh British initiatives to spur trade with India
In a bid to stem the falling rate of growth of exports and imports with India, the British Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has initiated a fresh set of initiatives. These include including India in its top 12 key world markets, appointing five dedicated export promoters, seconded from industry and commerce to India, and increasing the budget allocation from India-related trade initiatives.
BSE sees future in derivatives, to set up separate segment
In an about turn of sorts, the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) has decided to go the whole hog in introducing derivatives at the bourse in line with the recommendations of the LC Gupta committee which is currently awaiting the nod from the Sebi board. The exchange has decided to set up an entire derivatives segment to be headed by professionals.
