Essar's Jakarta plant re-starts: Operations have recommenced in full capacity at the cold-rolling facility of PT Essar Dhanajaya in Jakarta, Indonesia, on Friday after a short gap of two days. The temporary disruption in production at the plant located 20 km off Jakarta were due to the political turmoil in Indonesia. An Essar spokesperson said: "While about 35 Indian employees continued to remain in Jakarta, their families had been evacuated back to India as per the advise of the Indian embassy in Jakarta."

Infotech taskforce set up: A 19-member task force has been set up on Friday to draft the national informatics policy, which will be headed by Planning Commission deputy-chairman, Jaswant Singh. AP chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu and former minister MGK Menon will co-chair the task force.

Aviation, railway ministries in pact: An MoU was signed on Friday between the ministries of civil aviation and railways. The railways will appoint IA and Air India as its general sales agent forthe sale of rail products abroad.
