Uno diesel version unveiled

Fiat India Automobiles has unveiled the Uno's diesel version in the domestic market.Managing director G Ravina said the version, weighing 70 kg more than petrol version, had a fuel efficiency of 16-17 km a litre. It was fitted with a modern, noise-free diesel engine, considered more environment-friendly than a petrol engine. The cars, which have started rolling out of the Kurla plant of, had a combination of a spacious compact family car with a 1700cc fuel-efficient diesel engine. A modern 5-speed synchromesh gearbox with large diameter synchromesh and control gearing on needle, gives top speed of 135 kmp and accelerates rapidly within seconds.
