Yarn development for Expofil 1998
Yarn development is an essential part of the WNZ knitwear development programme. This collection was specifically designed and developed for Wools of New Zealand (WNZ) by the specialist Italian spinner Fili di Boto. WNZ gave Fili di Boto a brief and supplied with a range of New Zealand fibre, from 19 to 29 micron, in mainly worsted top form. All developments had to meet the Wools of New Zealand fibre condition rules for Fernmark apparel yarns.The 20 yarns developed by Fili di Boto 16 worsted base and four woollen base, are not only packaged as a stand alone collection for use by WNZ brand partners around the world, but is also the base material for a design competition rub by Wools of New Zealand in conjunction with the Royal College of Arts, London and the Italian design house Missoni.
