Shipping sector decries denial of core berth
Post-budget, the shipping industry finds nothing worth celebrating. "The industry wanted infrastructure status as it is a high forex earner of the country," said president of Indian National Shipowners' Association and executive president of Varun Shipping BL Mehta.He hoped that the government will fullfill this demand once the report of the Pinto committee is ratified during the course of the year.
