Sinha unmoved by rupee, Sensex fall

MUMBAI, June 3: Finance minister Yashwant Sinha has said that he is not worried about the negative sentiments on the stock market and also expressed the confidence that there would be no run on rupee. The minister, at a meet the press programme with foreign correspondents here also said that the government was committed to giving dual citizenship to non-resident Indians and Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) card was a step in that direction.

As far as markets were concerned, the minister said that "the stock market goes by the sentiments of the day, of the moment. I am not overconcerned to what has happened to the stock market."

He further added, "I am waiting for the good features of the budget to sink into the stock market".The Sensex has steadily fallen since the budget presentation on Monday.
