Britannia sales up to Rs 848 cr

MUMBAI, June 10: Britannia Industries has increased its sales 13 per cent to Rs 847.8 crore, against Rs 752.3 crore the previous year. The company's gross profit after interest but before depreciation and tax improved by 48 per cent, while net profit after tax has increased by 62 per cent.Growth in earnings were achieved mainly through all-round cost savings, productivity gains and effective treasury management. Biscuit volumes are up 6 per cent mainly through the successful launch of Tiger in the mass-market category and new premium introductions like Chekkers.
