Explore options beyond quality management

Pawan Bairagi
Present day quality circles have assumed an unprecedented importance. Conscious companies in quest for quality product, quality service, are employing quality management (QM) seriously. But the question is: Is QM the only key to optimisation of the services/products?

People believe that controlling quality circles alone can achieve more profit at a low cost. Previously managements used to take added quality as an additional cost. And higher price reflected a more refined way of presentation. But QM has disproved the same.

Growth oriented companies have been using quality control (QC) in some form or the other. Do some prescribed formulae like QC provide for all this? Definitely not. If we study psychology of a person, we come to know that a man is basically formed of emotions, feelings, and these necessities have to be responded positively and timely. A man is not altruist by nature and his intrinsic requirements need to be met. Pragmatic approach to his personality development has to be taken careof.

If we heed to his vital requirements, his latent power/skills can be utilised. When one is free from unnecessary burden and pressure on the psyche, he can orient his mind to an area of working with ease. And it is here that he comes to know about his hidden talent and realises the might of mind when he finds that he can perform great things. He is just in quest for mechanism needed to achieve the target.

Any management's responsibility here is that it should be prepared to guide as well orient the incumbent on how to utilise his skills for the development of the service/trade effectively. In this respect, the companies should consider application of Bairagi Management -- an innovative & unique Human Resource Development system which is fully capable of producing qualitymen out of quality thinking. It also enjoys a competitive edge over American and Japanese management since Baragi Management is based on psycho-analysis of human needs' mind, intellect and spirit. And therefore it is a much deeperphilosophy. It is also easy to grasp and implement in practice.
