Greater Noida poised for a big leap if plans go well
It is not very often that industrialists have nice things to say about basic amenities (or lack of them) and the administration. The officials are incompetent, callous, worthless, corrupt -- normally, this is the sum and substance of the grievances of businessmen in almost every industrial estate. Greater Noida seems to be an exception.
Insurance sector to create multiple jobs
The liberalisation of the insurance sector promises several new job opportunities for those employed in the finance sector, or are equipped with degrees in finance. Finance professionals who had witnessed a slump in the job market would be a much relieved lot to hear about the privatisation of the insurance sector.
Decline in annuity rates hits pensioners hard
Persons due for retirement, who have been saving hard into a pension fund, can probably look back on the past two or three years of investment growth with satisfaction - the average managed fund has grown by more than 60%. The problem is annuity rates, which have been in almost continuous decline since the start of the decade.
