Timeframe to investigate anti-dumping cases to be reduced
The time taken to probe anti-dumping cases is proposed to be reduced to less than six months from the present one year. This was stated by Rathi Vinay Jha, designated authority on anti-dumping and additional secretary of the ministry of commerce.
Ministry, ICAR draw up action plan to boost agricultural production
The Union agriculture ministry in collaboration with the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) has drawn up a detailed action plan for boosting agri production in the current kharif season. This is the initial attempt in the direction of doubling foodgrain production within the next 10 years as stated in the National Agenda for Governance.
Six output-sharing oil deals to be signed today
Union petroleum and natural gas minister VK Ramamurthy will oversee the signing of the first six production-sharing contracts out of the 18 exploration blocks offered to the private sector today. The blocks were offered between September, 1994, and December, 1996.
