Trial output at 3 power projects in Maharashtra to start soon
OUR BUREAU
New Delhi, July 3: Production on a trial basis at the three Maharashtra-based power projects- 2184mw Dabhol, 410mw Patalganga and 1082mw Bhadravati- is to start shortly and commercial production will start by December. This was decided at a joint meeting between the finance minister Yashwant Sinha, energy minister PR Kumaramangalam, Railway Board chairman, secretaries of finance and coal departments and the state Deputy chief minister Gopinath Munde. All problematic issues concerning the these power projects - Enron II, Bhadravati and Patalganga have been sorted out with the various concerned ministeries at the centre, Munde said. Maharashtra will have enough power to meet its demands by the end of the fiscal 2000, he added. In case of the Patalganga project, Munde said that techno-economic clearance was already granted by the Central Electricity Authority (CEA) but this was on certain conditions.
