Thermax Cullighan launches water softener: Thermax Cullighan Water Technologies Ltd has launched Good Water Eversoft, a domestic water softener. It is ideal for use in flats, bungalows, beauty parlours, hotels and laundries, specially where municipal water is supplemented with either borewell water or in places where borewell water is available. The water from the borewell contains calcium and magnesium salts that cause hardness in water and has an adverse effect on skin and hair. It also increases consumption of shampoos, detergents and soap, affects fabrics and stains crockery, cutlery and sanitaryware. The Good Water Eversoft softens the hard water by passing it through a resin bed, which replace excess calcium and magnesium salts with salts.Brand mapping technique from MBL-RCG: MBL-RCG, the Bangalore-based research agency, has launched the Projective Folder Test which maps brands using pictures. The test not only reproduces interpretations of the consumer's thoughts via images but alsoquantifies them using statistically reliable sample sizes. MBL-RCG is the exclusive licensee of the Projective Folder Test, developed and owned by PLM, a leading brand consultancy based in Paris.
Searle introduces termiticide: RPG group company Searle India's agrochemicals division has launched a termiticide branded Barricade in Mumbai. Barricade is based on chlorpyrifos, the world's largest selling insecticide and can be effectively used during construction, for furniture/timber treatment and even cockroach control. This launch marks Searle's entry in the environment protection category. Searle is already an established player in the agricultural sector with brands like Radar, Trapp and Fenval.
Atco Industries launches computerised time recorders: Atco Industries Ltd has launched its new range of electronic time recorders and attendance systems for offices, factories and commercial organisations. These include the Computerised Time Recorder (CTR) and the Electronic Time Recorder (ETR). AtcoTR-AT 1000, a CTR, is a magnetic card-based system that is interfaced to a computer. Employee-related details are stored in the magnetic strip of the employee card. The data consisting of employee number, date, time of entry and exit is automatically transferred to the computer. Atco TR-AM 200, a ETR device, prints the time of entry and exit on the employee cards. The number of hours worked can thus be calculated for each day and this data can be utilised for payroll functions.
LG's semi automatic washing machine: Close on the heels of its range of fully automatic machines, LG Electronics India has unveiled a new range of two semi-automatic washing machines. The two new models viz WP - 8002 and WP - 8003, are part of the `Punch wash series' of semi-automatic machines. The products use the Punch and Pulsator technology which results in the gushing upward movement of water in the wash tub removing dirt effectively. The punch action also removes the soap suds from the clothes making them completely dirtand soap free. This `Punch wash' process uses the force of water to reduce damage to the clothes, resulting in less friction as in other conventional washing machines. The new products are the country's first twin tub machines in the 6 kg segment. The wash and spin tubs are of matching capacities and made of a high - impact resistant polypropylene.

On offer is a discount of 15 per cent on towels, bedsheets, pillowcovers, suitings, shirtings, furnishings, dress materials, saris and readymade garments. The sale is on for 45 days at all Bombay Dyeing showrooms till August 15.
