Michael March is new MD of NGA Channel: The National Geographic Asia has announced Michael R March as the launch managing director for the channel. Formerly the vice-president and general counsel of NBC Asia, March has been responsible for all legal aspects of production, sales, marketing and distribution of NBC and CNBC channels in Asia and the Middle East. In his new role, March will be responsible for managing the launch phase of National Geographic Channel's business operations in Asia as well as the Middle East.Foster's Lager in India: International beer brand Foster's has launched its lager beer in the country recently. A premium 4.9 per cent alcohol beer, Foster's is a light coloured, full-bodied lager. It is packaged in a convenient single-serve 330 ml bottle and a 650 ml bottle with gold foil neck labelling. The Australian beer will be brewed at Aurangabad, Maharashtra. Initial distribution for the product will focus on Mumbai and Pune and other cities will follow. A gold medallistin the 1998 Brewing Industry International Awards, the lager has enjoyed international growth of more than 60 per cent in the last five years with annual sales now reaching US $4 billion.
A piece of action from AXN: AXN Action TV, Asia's first action and adventure cable and satellite television channel, has launched a special preview channel to give cable operators throughout Asia a sample of AXN's, 24-hour-programming. In order to deliver AXN to viewers, cable operators will need a DVB compliant MPEG-2 digital receiver to access the preview channel. The channel is already available in about five million households throughout Asia including Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand, the Phillipines, Malaysia, Brunei and China.
Morarjee Mills ties up with top designers: Morarjee Goculdas Spinning and Weaving Company Ltd has teamed up with top designers including Krishna Mehta, Hemant Trivedi, Jay Ramrakhiani and Rocky S to create a special collection using fabrics like 100 per cent cotton voile, 100 percent polyester, polyester cotton and 100 per cent cotton, manufactured at the company's recently mordernised manufacturing facility. Morarjee Mills has invested nearly Rs 25 crore to modernise and upgrade its existing plant and machinery. The company entered into a joint venture with Italy-based Manifattura Castiglioni for mordernising its internal processes and installing new, automatic machines like the short run printing machine and the automatic colour kitchen among others.
Radission, Jet Airways tie up: Recently opened Radisson Hotel Delhi, has tied up with Jet Airways to offer a special privelege to all Jet Airways passengers flying Club Premiere. The hotel will offer a room on the Plaza Club floor free for one night. To avail of the offer, a guest has to make prior reservation with any of the Radisson hotels worldwide sales and reservation offices mentioned on his boarding card and the business card at the time of checking in at the hotel.
Spa'kel Launches `Virgin Purity', field mineralwater bottles: The Jusako Group has launched a mineral water brand called `Virgin Purity' in the Indian market. The bottle of the new product is sealed with a food grade foil, making it completely tamper proof. The company markets Spa'kel Aqua Mineral in single serve 250 ml glasses. Spa'kel is also available in other packaging forms like cubipacks and 29 litre dispensers.
Uncle Chipps in 70g packs and four variants: The Delhi-based potato chips maker, Uncle Chipps Ltd has introduced potato wafers in bigger value for money 70 gm packs at Rs 15. Available in four flavours viz, plain salted, spicy treat, paapri chaat and tomato punch at present, the company plans to cover all the flavours. Uncle Chipps has an introductory gift of a toy free with each pack. The brand enjoys 71 per cent share of the organised potato wafers segment.
