NTPC Kayamkulam unit to go on stream

Kochi, July 16: The 350mw Kayamkulam thermal power plant promoted by the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) is set to become a landmark, it being the first unit of the project to be completed ahead of schedule.Sources said NTPC was geared up to commission the first unit of the project with an installed capacity of 115mw by September instead of the original date of March 1999. The commissioning of the first unit of the plant will also go a long way in easing the severe power crunch in the state.
