July 19: Natural rubber prices slipped further in the Kottayam market during the week ended July 17. Dealers are expecting the prices to move further down in the coming week.Trade source said that the inordinate delay in announcing the new floor price by the Government is one major reason for the recent slip in the price. They said the procurement agencies have also slowed down their activity following the dispute between STC and rubber societies over commission. "The wrangle between STC and societies had hit the procurement activity dearly", they said.
Moreover, the industrial users are keeping off from the market during the last couple of weeks. This follows the sale of over 7,000 tonnes of rubber procured by RUBCO to industrial consumers.
