Modi Xerox unveils new fax machine: Modi Xerox has launched a new facsimile machine -- myfax D ( Modi Xerox F70). Aimed at the small office-home segment the product is an upgrade from its popular predecessor, the myfax. Myfax, was one of the first among the affordable range of facsimile machines from the company's stable to break the Rs 10,000 price barrier. The new model is built with a "no power" function to counter erratic power supply. The function sustains all facsimile functions like LCD display, voice request, and speed dialing in the event of a power failure. The company has also announced an introductory exchange scheme for the new model. Under this, the product will be made available at a discount of Rs 1,500 on exchange of any old telephone set. Standard price of the product without the exchange offer is Rs 13,990.

New Channel [V] chief appointed: Star TV has appointed Steve Smith as the managing director of Channel [V]. Smith will replace general manager Don Atyeo, who retires nextmonth after a seven-year stint with the company. Smith joins Channel [V] from MGM (Gold) Asia, where he was president and general manager since 1997. He has been credited with bringing new programming services to Hungary by launching both a music and documentary channel in the country.

Taj Hotels to host 10th SAARC summit: The Taj Samudra in Colombo, Sri Lanka has been selected to play host to the 10th SAARC (South Asian Association for Regional Co-operation) Summit. Apart from accommodating the heads of states and VIP's visiting Sri Lanka, the hotel will also be the venue for the series of conferences and meetings during the summit. This is the second time that the 5-star hotel has been chosen the host-hotel for the heads of states participating in the SAARC Summit. The Taj Samudra had previously hosted the SAARC summit held in 1991.

Shopper's Stop's Parikrama: The Mumbai-based retail store Shopper's Stop is all set to unveil its annual event, Parikrama, on August first. Parikrama, or thefestival of India, was conceived last year on theoccasion of 50 years of the country's independence. The 15-day event will revolve around the different periods of Inidan history.

Lakme launches ultralight moisturiser: Lakme Lever has added "Lakme Ultralight moisturiser" to its existing range skin care products. The product has a light, non-greasy formulation that is suited to all skin types. The Ultralight moisturiser is meant for everyday application and can be used even during warm and humid months. Packaged in an easy-to-carry 120 ml bottle, the product is priced at Rs 49.

Oshkosh B'Gosh available at Akbarally's: The US-based manufacturer of children wear Oshkosh B'Gosh, is now available in Mumbai's famous Akbarallys retail store. The product range that will be stocked in the store includes, the Summer Collection, the Autumn Collection and the Winter Collection. Each of these will have over 500 styles. The collections are currently marketed through 20 exclusive outlets and threeshop-in-shop facilities spread out over Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Kanpur, Jaipur, Udaipur and Patiala.
