Bajaj Auto net revs up 15% to Rs 112 crore
Bajaj Auto (BAL) has posted "reasonably satisfactory" first quarter results. Sales registered an 11.5% increase, to 3.37 lakh, from 3.02 lakh while total income for the quarter just ended has risen to Rs 810.9 crore (from Rs 722.7 crore). Net profit has gone up by 14.7% to Rs 112.1 crore (from Rs 97.7 crore).

IRA chairman favours entry of foreign firms
Even as the BJP-led coalition is debating the possibility of allowing foreign equity in domestic insurance joint ventures, the Insurance Regulatory Authority (IRA) chairman N Rangachary has strongly pleaded for the entry of foreign insurance companies.

Carryforward rates continue at 6%
Carryforward charges on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) continued to remain range-bound in the band of 6-10% annualised. The most interesting feature of the session was that of 20-23 stocks attracting backwardation reflecting the increasing short positions at these counters.
