Ahmedabad, August 4: The Ahmedabad chapter of Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICWI), which was adjudged the best chapter in the country five times and in the western region six times, entered the silver jubilee year on Tuesday.
It felicitated past chairmen on the occasion on and proposed to hold a full-day seminar on ‘Mergers and Amalgamations on Sunday.
While ICSI has about 12,600 members, a large number of CS don top mosts in different organisations. Founder chairmen of Ahmedabad chapter Chinubhai R Shah has become managing director of Ahmedabad Electricity Company (AEC). There are seven CS in Ashima Syntex and four in Gujarat Ambuja. The list is exhaustive, according to present chairman Kaushik Khona.
Ahmedabad chapter has many firsts to its credit too, including starting the first oral coaching class in 1976, commence elligibility test scheme for students to qualify for the examination, hold secretarial modular training programme and to start a refresher course for members.
