RCF asks centre to defer divestment plan for now
Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers (RCF) has suggested to the centre not to include its name for disinvestment immediately, as the company is in the midst of a revamp exercise at its units. At present, the government's holding in RCF is 92.5%. The company is concentrating on revamping its units at Trombay in Mumbai and Thal in Raigad district.
FIPB rejects Jagjit Brown Forman proposal to import raw materials
The Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) has rejected a fresh proposal of Jagatjit Brown Forman India to import raw materials for the manufacture of a range of products, excluding scotch whisky. The company proposed to import alcohol flavouring ingredients for the manufacture of its popular brand "Southern Comfort".
JB Patnaik dares Centre to relocate Talcher project
Orissa chief minister JB Patnaik on Friday dared the union power ministry to shelve the 2000 mw Talcher Super Thermal Station expansion project and relocate the plant in another state. The chief minister hinted that he would soon meet the power minister to discuss the two contentious issues -- 12% free power and the dispute between National Thermal Power Corporation and Gridco over dues.
