Uncertainty over fertiliser concession rates stalls imports,
The fertiliser ministry has blamed the Union agriculture ministry for the delay in announcement of rates of concession on sale of decontrolled fertilisers which has severely affected the overall availability of DAP and MoP in the country. The agriculture ministry in turn has shifted the blame for the delay to the Bureau of Industrial Costs and Prices (BICP) to which it has entrusted the computation of costs of production.
Government to unveil package for mega power projects, says Sinha
The Centre will soon come out with a package for setting up 1000mw mega power projects in the public and private sector, finance minister Yashwant Sinha said on Friday. The government was also reviewing the 40% cap on raising resources domestically by independent power producers (IPPS) power minister PR Kumaramangalam said.
