British insurers wooed by web promise
If you go down to the web today, you're in for a big surprise. Products, price pressures and progress in technology are all coming together to confound the sceptics who pour scorn on claims that a lot of people will be buying insurance on the Internet within a few years.
Siticable gears up to challenge InCableNet's CVO supremacy
The Hinduja-run InCableNet's CVO, which is being talked about as one of the few successes in Indian television, is in for a bout of competition. The Subhash Chandra-Rupert Murdoch-owned Siticable is gearing up to launch a 16-hour daily Hindi movie channel which will premier films on cable TV, apart from showing old library product by September.
The Hewlett Packard way: Don't worry, be happy
Two weeks ago, Suresh C Rajpal, President Hewlett-Packard India (HPI), decided to compliment an employee whose work he really appreciated. So he reached for his special note-pad--which says ``You made my day! From the desk of Suresh Rajpal''--scribbled a friendly message, and dropped it off on the employee's table. Last week it was Rajpal who was taken aback: ``This lady actually laminated the note and put it up on her desk! I was shocked. But I do more of it now.''
