TAC meet on insurance premiums soon
The Tariff Advisory Committee (TAC) has convened a meeting of truck transporters and the representatives from the General Insurance Corporation (GIC) and the United India Insurance Company to thrash out an amicable third party motor insurance premia acceptable to the transport industry. The meeting, scheduled for August 27, will be held in Delhi.
CSO not to forecast economic growth data
The Central Statistical Organisation (CSO) will not henceforth forecast on economic growth and confine itself only to advance estimates, MD Asthana, secretary, department of statistics said addressing a press conference to release CSO studies on poverty and consumption patterns in New Delhi.
DoT move to boost value-added services
The department of telecommunications (DoT) has decided to engage marketing agents to popularise value-added services (VAS), besides accelerating the development of other services.The scheme has initially been started in Delhi, Calcutta and the states of Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu except Mumbai and Chennai.
