Commodity Briefing 

 
Grains quiet

A quietly steady condition prevailed on the grains market as activity remained restricted.

Wheat milling were placed at Rs 660-665 a quintal. Saurashtra Lokvan wheat were traded at Rs 765-825, SW at Rs 900-1100 and north Gujarat at Rs 725-775. MP 147 and Sarbati ruled at Rs 750-850 and at Rs 900-1300 respectively.

Rice Gujarat-17 were maintained at Rs 1500-1600. Permal FCI were on offer at Rs 850-950 while superior met with support at Rs 1150-1250. Among pulses, green peas USA were quoted at Rs 1600-1650 and Canadian at Rs 1071-1081. White peas Canadian were on offer at Rs 1150 while September/October shipments were on placed at Rs 925.

Sugar subdued

A dull-to-subdued condition was in evidence on the sugar market following sluggish offtake. M-30 were placed at Rs 1435-1505 and S-30 at Rs 1415-1440 a quintal ex-godown. Ex-octroi checkpost, the price eased by Rs 5 as M-30 were on offer at Rs 1405-1420 and S-30 at Rs 1385-1400.

In tenders, M-30 at Rs 1365-1370 in Kolhapurline eased by Rs 5. S-30 were static at Rs 1350-1360.

Cotton lacklustre

In lacklustre trading prices hovered around the previous day's levels on the cotton market.

V-797 were placed at Rs 15,500-15,800, Morbi wagad at Rs 15,100-15,200 and kala ginned at Rs 14,500-14,600 a candy spot. Sanker ruled in the range of Rs 18,500-22,000. In Punjab zone, ready Bengal deshi saw-ginned were placed at Rs 1620-1640 a maund. J-34 saw-ginned good average at Rs 1800-1850 and cart-selected at Rs 1920-2040 were unchanged.

In forward, new crop Bengal deshi roller-ginned October were placed in the range of Rs 1350-1380 and November at Rs 1310-1335. J-34 saw-ginned good average Haryanan October and November were mentioned at Rs 1800-1810 and at Rs 1750-1760 respectively.

Yarn dull

Trading continued to be a tame affair on the yarn market. Prices ruled quietly steady.

Viscose filament yarn bright cones first quality Century Rayon 150dn ruled at Rs 224, 120dn at Rs 245, 100dn at Rs 256 and 75dn at Rs 269a kg.

Nylon yarn Shreelon 15/1/0dn and 20/1/0dn found sellers at Rs 265 and at Rs 231 respectively.
