Tatas had lined up assurance letters from FIIs
The Tatas had obtained formal assurance from the two foreign institutional investors (FIIs) who planned to pick up stake in Tata Airline that no foreign airline owns any equity in them. This was done to ensure full compliance with the civil aviation policy guidelines.
Ministry spikes celltel operators' plea for two-year licence fee moratorium
The Union finance ministry is against granting a two-year moratorium on payment of licence fee to cellular operators. The ministry conveyed its views against the proposal of moratorium to the department of telecom (DoT) on Thursday. The ministry is also not keen on granting a five-year extension on the licence period to cellular operators.
SAIL revival plan meet begins today
The Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) will hold a three-day brainstorming session, starting Friday, in Calcutta to discuss its turnaround strategy. A total of 195 officials will participate in the meeting and put forward their suggestions for improving the performance of the public sector undertaking.
