JAMSHEDPUR, Sept 5: The Tata-Yodogawa Ltd board of directors, at the company's 30th annual general meeting (AGM) held on Friday, has declared 30 per cent dividend for 1997-98. Chairman RN Sharma declared that the profit stood at Rs 7.09 crore, the highest-ever achieved by the company.Previous year's profit was Rs 5.37 crore. The production during the year was also highest ever, 9,109 tonnes of steel rolls, as compared with the previous year's 9,059 tonnes.
The expansion initiated earlier for increasing the roll manufacturing capacity is progressing well in a phased manner, Sharma said. The chairman, in his speech, said although the necessity for economic reforms has been acknowledged by all political parties, the government has to gear itself towards its vigorous implementation particularly in strengthening infrastructure, energy, transport, road and communication.
