Seven nominated for Channel [V] Music Awards: Seven candidates have been nominated for the 1998 Channel [V] Music Awards Coca-Cola viewers choice contest. They are Daler Mehndi, AR Rahman, Lucky Ali, Silk Route, Sonu Nigam, Shiamak and Kamaal Khan. The nominees have been choosen based on the sales figures provided by the IMI and their performance on Channel [V]'s Indian Top Ten charts. The contest has assumed the character and details of a political campaign. Voting for the nominees will kick off on September 9.The Channel [V] Music Awards will be held in New Delhi on November 21 and is sponsored by Coca-Cola, Taj Tea, Killer Jeans and Rexona Deodorant. Channel [V] has entered into strategic alliances with high youth traffic retail outlets like Wimpy's, Baskin Robbins, Archies, record stores, bookshops, bowling alleys and pool parlours to act as authorised voting centres. Entry forms, posters and banners will be prominently displayed at each of these outlets at 50 cities to enable their respectivecustomers to know that the outlet is part of the voting campaign.
The Channel [V] volunteers in each city will encourage the consumer to vote and reward him or her with merchandise based on the total number of votes. Voters will be part of a lucky draw. You could be one of the seven lucky to win a trip to the 1998 Channel [V] Music Awards in Delhi, a trip to the 1998 Billboard Awards, a customised Coca-Cola Junglee Jukebox crammed with CDs of your choice, badges, T-shirts, CDs and much more.

The new collection pouches are made from imported foam cloth and synthetic leather and is priced between Rs 100 and Rs 600. Belts are priced between Rs 245 and Rs 750.
