Haria Exports net up a tad to Rs 1.7 crore:

The board of directors of Haria Exports Ltd has recommended a dividend of Rs 1.5 per share for the year ended March 1998, against Rs 1 per share paid last year. Exports increased 63 per cent to Rs 45.51 crore from 28.92 crore during the period last year. Net profit rose to Rs 1.72 crore from Rs 1.6 crore last year. Local sales have increased to Rs 12.93 crore from Rs 11.95 crore.

Emtex Industries net up to Rs 8.35 crore:

Emtex Industries, a manufacturer of pharma intermediates and engaged in fabric processing, has posted an 18 per cent rise in turnover to Rs 130.51 crore during 1997-98, against Rs 110.73 crore in the previous year. Net profit increased to Rs 8.35 crore from Rs 7.86 crore last year. The company has maintained the dividend at Rs 1.8 per share.

United Phosphorus product:

United Phosphorus Ltd, an international producer of generic crop protection products, intermediates and other industrial chemicals, has launched a newproduct `Virat.' This protects crops like cotton and vegetables like brinjal against borers. The product formulation has been developed by the company's formulation department. The company said it has a focus on international business through acquisitions of manufacturing base in Europe and by setting up marketing and production subsidiaries or joint ventures in various parts of the world.

AAAI award:

RK Swamy/BBDO Advertising Ltd's founder chairman RK Swamy has been awarded the 10th AAAI-Premnarayen award for 1997. The award comprising a citation and a trophy was handed over the Swamy by the Advertising Agencies Association of India (AAAI) president Ram Sehgal. The award was instituted in 1998 by the AAAI as the highest honour given to a professional in the country for his contributions to the advertising industry. Later, Swamy made a presentation on -- Dawn of a new era at the turn of the century.

IIQ Systems ties up with Ramco Systems:

The Bangalore-based IIQ Systems has tied-upwith Ramco Systems as the latter's business partner. "IIQ Systems is pleased to be associated with Ramco Marshal. With ERP emerging as every corporate's necessity, we see ourselves taking the right step in joining hands with Ramco Systems," IIQ Systems managing director V Prashanth said. Ramco Marshal has been designed to be an enterprise wide solution for client-server computing. Ramco Marshal comprises over 35 comprehensive ERP applications in all areas of enterprise management from sales, logistics, discrete and process manufacturing to maintenance, treasury and human resources management.

Wipro Internet-based solution:

Wipro software products division (SPD) has launched Netscape process manager 1.0, an Internet-based solution that enables enterprises to design, deploy, manage and access sophisticated processes and workflow applications throughout an enterprise and over extranets to partners and customers. The Netscape process manager 1.0 automates dynamically - changing processes thatinvolve multiple organisations and external parties, such as job bidding, contract negotiation, or customer management. It also allows an organisation to automate unstructured processes, strengthen operational performance, and respond quickly to changing business variable.

Cambridge Technology project:

The Bangalore-based Cambridge Technology Partners (India) Pvt Ltd on Monday announced that it had successfully delivered a workflow automation project for Polygram BV (Netherlands) in a matter of 13 weeks. The company developed this application, along with its Dutch office by using communication technology like video conferencing and distributed source control software, said a release. "This project is our first project in Virtual Project Environment (VPE) to be delivered. We have two other ongoing projects with large clients in the UK and the Netherlands and we are continuing to see a large demand for our services both locally and overseas," Cambridge Technology managing director Rahul Chawlasaid.

Trade bodies form committee:

A 12-member action committee has been formed by all the chambers of commerce and associations in Maharashtra. The committee will hold its first meeting in the city on October 5, and submit a memorandum to deputy chief minister Gopinath Munde, protesting the stiff power tariff hike which will come into force from November 1. An apex body of all chambers of commerce and associations in the state has been formed to formulate a joint course of action on common problems faced by trade and industry.

British ports team to visit Ahmedabad:

A 20-member British Ports Trade Mission will visit Ahmedabad on September 15 to explore opportunities of specific business proposals in joint ventures with Gujarat government and private sector. The Confederation of Indian Industry (CCI) western region has organised a one-to-one interaction with the delegation, led by the British Marine Equipment Council (BMEC) director (ports and terminals) Ken Gibbons, in the city onTuesday.

American Power launches new ware:

Global leader in back-up power systems, American Power Conversion, on Monday, launched its latest back-up power equipment in the domestic market. Aimed at the enterprise computer server and business critical applications markets, the propriety equipment `symmetra power array' is one step ahead of the available uninterrupted power supply (UPS) equipment and investors, APC India country manager Rishipal Sethi said.

BHEL bags export contract worth Rs 200 crore:

The state-owned Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) has bagged an export order worth Rs 200 crore for a gas turbine power plant in Oman. In its maiden entry in the overseas petroleum sector for power plant equipment, BHEL will supply the gas turbine-based turnkey package for a 90mw power plant, a BHEL release said. Petroleum Development Oman (PDO), a company jointly promoted by the government of Oman, Royal Dutch/Shell, Partex and Total has placed this order with BHEL for the supply ofthree gas turbines, the release said.
