Autocop India unveils car power-window system

Chandigarh, Sept 16: Autocop (India) Ltd has launched the Autocop remote car power window system to be initially sold in Chandigarh Haryana, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh. The ten-year old company was formed, at Nashik, in technical collaboration with Kenwoo Ind of Japan.

The system, which facilitates the rolling of glass windows up and down in a radial range of 150 feet, will be launched in other parts of the country in a phased manner. The company is in talks with major car manufacturers including Maruti Udyog Ltd, Open Astra and Hyundai to introduce the system in these cars at the manufacturing stage.

The company, which posted a turnover of over Rs 20 crore last year, claims that more than 20 per cent of cars in the country had installed Autocop's central locking devise.

The company also plans to launch a home security system shortly. Autocop managing director Umesh Deshpande said that keeping in view the spate of burglaries, rising cases of house trespass and theft, the company has devised a homesecurity system. The system will trigger a continuous alarm once an intruder tries to enter the house. It will be linked to a central control system and then to mobile vans round the clock.

Each city will be divided into several zones so that mobile vans could reach within minutes to extend help, he said.

About the AUTOCOPXS, the remote car locking and security system, Deshpande said it is installed inside the car and operates with the help of a remote control in a radial range of 150 feet. It becomes very convenient to lock and unlock the car doors by just pressing a single button of remote. The system assists the car owner with other features like car tracing, panic alarm, ignition cut-off, stereo and AC cut-off.

It makes the car safer and when anyone tries to open its doors, dicky, bonut or removes any of its external accessories like wheels, wheel covers, wipers, rear view mirror, the high power siren starts sounding to alert the car owner and other people nearby, he added.

About the new productthe "Autocop Remote Car Power Window system," he said that the company's research and development (R&D) wing had devised this product. The cost of Autocop-XS, the central locking system, will be priced between Rs 3,950 and Rs 4,950 while that of remote power windows at Rs 12,000.
