Bates Clarion consolidates non-Bates portfolio

Our Bureau
Mumbai, Sept 18: Bates Clarion has been busy consolidating its non-Bates portfolio with a host of blue chip wins in the recent past through all its offices. It had bagged brands like 555, Benson & Hedges, Nokia and Clorets last year with its Bates affiliation. These will add double-digit revenues to the agency, one of the few which is growing faster than the industry.

The agency's wins include, Eicher Commercial Vehicles -- whose focussed new campaign is ready to break, Sharp -- for their new range of audio products (in Mumbai), Exide -- for their corporate, Modis Tolstra for below the-line (in Calcutta), ColorPlus Junior (in Chennai), Gentleman magazine (in Bangalore) and Indorama for their mega corporate exercise, in Delhi.

But the most talked about catch has been the multicrore Onida account for their mass range of televisions, where the agency's vying included Chaitra Leo Burnett, Madison DMB&B, O&M and Bates Clarion. Bates Clarion was awarded one end of the business and O&M the other.

According toan agency spokesperson, these wins are a result of one of the most aggressive new business programmes undertaken by the agency and other, equally prestigious wins, which are in the bag are likely to be made public soon. Looks like it's festival time at Bates Clarion!
