Sony Pictures seeks nod for 100% subsidiary
The US-based Sony Pictures Entertainment has sought the union government's permission to set up a wholly owned subsidiary for production of films and their distribution and marketing in the country as well as overseas. The company plans to invest $10 million in a phased manner based on the needs of the subsidiary.
Godrej Soaps set to take over distribution network from Godrej HIcare in Jan
Godrej Soaps Ltd, in a major restructuring exercise, is taking over the distribution network of its products from Godrej HIcare Ltd in which it holds 40 per cent. This is likely to come into effect from January 1999.
SAIL confident of Rowghat plans despite opposition
Despite the opposition by the Union ministry of environment and forests, the Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) is confident of developing the iron ore mine at Rowghat in Madhya Pradesh for its Bhilai Steel Plant.
