Delhi: In a mixed chemicals market last week, ammonium chloride, mentha, sodium hydro sulphite, soda ash, sodium bicarbonate and ammonia bicarb flared up on tight supplies while press wax, boric acid and mentha oil slumped on downtrend advices from the other markets.Ammonium chloride flared up by Rs150 at Rs 625 per 50 kgs after reduced their inflow to seek higher prices. The manufacturers hiked their rates after the subsidy was taken back.
The prices of ammonium chloride have thus shot up by Rs 230 during the last two weeks because of buoyant demand from the Churan and ayurvedic drugs makers. Another reason for the flare up was that the government had imposed a 18 per cent excise duty on ammonium technical grade production and hence, the selling price of companies shot upto Rs 11000 as against the previous Rs6500 per tonne.
Camphor powder and slab moved up by Rs. 5 at Rs 125 and Rs 155 per kg on allround demand for Navratris and Diwali. Soda ash of Tata was demanded well during the week and firmedup by Rs 5 at Rs 880 per 75 kgs. The price rise was also because of negligible inflow of Birla, DCW and Punjab. Sodium bicarbonate and ammonia bicarbonate moved up by Rs 5/40 at Rs 620/630.
