Zee, Star TV forced to call truce as Sony hogs limelight
Is there any truth that a marketing tieup between Zee TV and Star TV has been struck? Insiders aver that the two have not signed any long-term agreement. The promos that the two channels aired for each other's programmes last week were need based and were a one-night stand. Sony Entertainment Television was airing `Rangeela' on Saturday at around the same time that Star Plus was showing Yes Boss.
Art with a heart
The charity show is one spot where the art market shows itself in its best light. In the days of the art boom one often failed to get the best works for such shows, but now they attract far better works and serious buyers as well. Recently, four etchings by Aparna Caur fetched Rs 15,000 in aid of the Narmada Bachhao Andolan. A small collaborative work by the same artist gifted to help pay the medical expenses of a young child, Tushar, fetched Rs 15,000 at the charity show at Art Today.
Wharton School workshops to come a-visiting
Short business programmes of the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, the oldest business school in the US, might soon be available, right here in India. While being extremely popular in the US, such short courses do not enjoy similar acceptability and patronage in India. However, the Wharton School courses might change all that.
