NEW DELHI, Oct 13: The Bangalore-based Sonata Software on Tuesday announced its plans to go public soon. Ranked among the top 20 software companies in India, Sonata Software is focused software products, ERP, IT consulting and software development services for the international markets.The company's forthcoming public issue is mainly to obtain listing on the bourses and to mobilise funds for augmenting long term resources.It plans to set up a new offshore development centre at a cost of Rs 23 crore.
The company had evolved a stock option plan for employees to attract and retain manpower.
Sonata has established relationships with international software majors, including Microsoft, Oracle, Lotus, Scala, IBM and Symantec. In addition to being distributors for these companies in India, in the case of Microsoft, they are the premium solution providers and the same for Lotus for notes. For Scala, Sonata has established an offshore development centre.
