Jaipur bourse flays UTI for corporate presentations

MP Jain

JAIPUR, Oct 16: The Jaipur Stock Exchange Limited has taken exception to the Unit Trust of India calling big corporates to make a presentation on the grounds that it is against the `listing agreement'. According to the bourse, the listing agreement says no corporate is allowed to submit additional information or pass on `price senstive information' to any market player.

Such disclosures should be made available to all shareholders in the larger interest, says Jaipur Stock Exchnage president R C Goenka. He added that UTI should not be allowed to make use of such information for undertaking any market operation. If this is not done, a large number of small investors will be affected, said Goenka, adding that it was Sebi's duty to look into the matter.
